Yay, the day is finally here! I officially re-opened my Spirit Gem Designs Etsy store this morning! You can now browse my work, and shop your favorite items easily once more!
It was interesting, the same time I had to close my Etsy shop, my grandmother passed away. She really loved my work, and she always visited me at my rock shows at Har Mar Mall. The last time I saw her, she was very concerned about my business, and if I was going to any more rock shows! I was very surprised, since she just moved to hospice care and her health was very poor. But she loved my work so much! I told her there were no more rock shows to attend, and that I had to close my store for a couple of months. She was so sad, and just couldn't understand it!
My grandmother had bought (and she insisted on buying!) a beautiful Carnelian Gem Tree during my first show. I know it helped support her during the last couple years of her life, when she struggled with various health issues. She also bought a gemstone necklace from Kevin, and we gave her a sun catcher and a bracelet. It really meant to so much to me, to have that family support when I needed it. Now after her passing, I was given a small amount of money, and I knew I had to use a portion of that to get my store up and running again, to make her proud. So this is for you, gramma! May my forest of gem trees help support and heal once more!
In the coming days, I will have some new gem trees available. I will be moving my mala bracelets over to another store, where they will join some cool friendship bracelets, knitted bracelets and paracord/bungee cord bracelets.
Please don't forget to show your feline friend some love, and visit my Oddball Cat Toys shop on Etsy! I also have for sale a bunch of pet gemstone healing charms, that work great on both dogs and cats, as well as zipper pulls.

Unfortunately the title is right! There are no more rock shows for me to attend in the foreseeable future. I just heard from club I've been attending the shows through, and the mall we were at closed contracts to shows and kiosks. Until the club is able to figure out a new location for the show, it looks like we're in the dark! Its a shame, because the mall has a long history of hosting these rock shows, and used to gain such strong visitors! I'm curious to see what happens to the mall after this, and what will happen to the beloved show!
I have the opportunity to attend the April show, the last show that will be at Har Mar Mall. I'm not sure I'm going or not just yet, I have mixed feelings about it.
In the meantime, I've been working hard over at Spirit Pet Designs! The cute gemstone charms are proving to be a hot seller! People are buying them for their animals, to help them heal various conditions. This morning I made a custom charm for a former abused dog. I am anxious to hear the results! I really hope some positive crystal vibration can help ease the pain and anxiety that poor dog feels.
I'm in the process of figuring out some gemstone collars! I love using my knotted collar designs, and putting random gem chips on the pattern. I figured out a system that will allow for the collar to be adjusted from the ends, instead of a special ring, because the collar would be too bulky to use that system. Check out the photos below, I'm quite proud of my work! Please show some support for the ever evolving Spirit Pet Designs on Etsy! http://spiritpetdesigns.etsy.com.
Don't forget to use coupon code SPRINGWEEK now through Saturday, March 22nd! In honor of spring arriving (in some parts of the country anyways), take 15% off your purchase of $20 or more at my Spirit GEM Designs Etsy shop! http://spiritgemdesigns.etsy.com
Happy spring, everyone! Let's hope it arrives for the rest of the country soon!
These two new gem trees totally remind me of spring! (clicking on the photo will take you to their Etsy listing)
Instead of two posts, I'm going to cram two things in here!
I started a new Etsy Shop for my pet products called Spirit PET Designs. I will be selling gemstone pet collar charms, as well as my specially made pet collars (with the option to add gemstones). I redesigned my old Oddball Cat Toys business to fit in the unique products. I still sell cat toys, and plan to add other products such as beds, in the near future. At this moment I'm not sure which direction Spirit Pet Designs will take. While I firmly believe in animal crystal healing, I know where are people out there who don't understand it, and I don't want to scare them off. At the same time, I see a HUGE value in helping animals when conventional treatments, training and drugs fail, and would love for this to become a major business. That is, focusing on animal healing (especially cats) with crystals.
As of right now, I have a bunch of gemstone collar charms listed. You can either buy them as fun bling for your pet, or more seriously, to help behavioral and health issues. I don't guarantee overnight success, miracles, or any of the sort. BUT, pets DO react to energies, and you will see result. I advise setting an intention with the crystal, and positively working with your animal, to achieve desirable results. The charms can easily clip on to an existing collar, or you can purchase a special Spirit Pets collar! The collars, if you remember, have gem chips attached to a cool, durable design.
I don't want to talk too much about Spirit Pets, since its a break out business from Spirit Gem Designs. I will be creating its own website in the very near future, so stay tuned for that!

The other thing I wanted to address is wholesale business. I absolutely DO IT! I love it! Yes! It doesn't matter whether you want a bunch of trees, or a bunch of bracelets. I have streamlined the process enough, and can get my supplies quick enough, to handle small or large orders. Depending on what you need, I offer discounts anywhere from 30-60% from my typical listed price. You have to be an established business. I do have a small section on the website here called "Wholesale" with more information and my contact information. I am requiring payment before any custom work begins. If you are buying current inventory, I do set a time requirement for payment, because I do not like holding work from paying customers. I don't think its fair.
As for future shows, I am up in the air as to the direction of things right now! I never should have added more projects to my plate! lol I don't know what to do next, what to pursue, any of that. I have to figure out which ideas are relevant to pursue, and which ones ought to be left alone.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be attending February's Rock Show at Har Mar Mall. I apologize! I will be on track for the next show, which will be held in April. I will be working on finding an event in March to attend, with some new products!
You're looking at the first of two new products! This is Angie's collar. Angie is my special needs cat, if you remember from previous posts. The collar is made from a hand knotted (by me!) friendship bracelet, and attached to special velcro.
To give you a short background, Angie moved into our house after spending some time on the streets in 2008. After she injured her leg in 2012 (under mysterious circumstances), she has had issues with things lying on the floor and even entering certain rooms from time to time. Being that I'm a crystal healer, I set to work finding a crystal to work with her! I found she LOVES pink Andean Opals. Andeans are great for timid pets with an abusive past. I also mixed in Olive Jade (for support during stressful times) and Crazy Lace Agate (for help with sudden traumas). The results have been phenomenal.
Angie has been having emotional issues in our new place. She is terrified if anyone comes to the door, and spends the next 10-15 minutes trying to find a suitable hiding spot. She was also having a bout of being afraid of things lying on the floor, such as toys and scratchers. We're not sure why she has these spells.
I was having issues reassuring her, so I set to work turning her special collar into a healing collar. If you can see in the photo, there are 6 attached tiny Andean Opal collars in the design. That's all it took, and Angie has gained the confidence to be herself! She's no longer having timid issues or panicking, and she's even being nicer to our newest addition, Gracie!
As I've explained through other posts, cats are VERY reactive to crystal energy. Both crystal and cat have a deep connection with the earth and outdoors. Cats will tolerate different forms of crystals, and in different places (such as in the home or around their neck). Its a good idea to slowly introduce your cat(s) to new crystals, so they can get used to the energies. Some cats will take right to them, and others might have an emotional reaction. They will let you know what's a good fit for them energy-wise, and what's not.
I plan on offering two types of healing products for pets. The first will be the collars as you see above, but the future collars will be made with breakaway components and a bell (bell is optional). The other style will have a gem in either a cage or bead cap, that you can easily attach to an existing collar. The collars will feature small gems, and the clip on style will have a little bigger, up to about 1/2 inch in size. I will have a variety of gems available, as well as patterns for the collars.
The other idea with this collar is to make something well constructed. If you look at the photo below, you will see this is a standard cat collar, probably made of nylon. Angie's claws are rarely trimmed, and she scratches often. She ruins her collars within a few months. If you look closely, you'll see the threads are now fuzzy and slowly pulling from the collar. It should be smooth and neatly stitched. Its not. If you look at the first picture of the collar I designed with the Andeans, you'll see NO WEAR. Angie has been wearing this collar for the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. I am not lying! These collars are made with a heavy duty embroidery floss, and floss is very tough! If you remember the friendship bracelets we used to make and wear as kids, they took forever to show wear and finally fall off (depending how it was tied together). These collars will withstand a lot more wear, tear and abuse than your standard pet store cat collar! And of course, these guys have some super cool designs and colors!
I'm still working on the next idea, and that would be a new spin to a healing bracelet (for humans). I can take the same concept as above, using my hand knotted friendship bracelets, and add gems! The concept photo I show below is with small gem chips attached. I will make some future bracelets with the gems knotted into the design. I can use a variety of gem shapes too, which I'm pretty excited about getting into!
I've been making friendship bracelets all of my life, and I REALLY enjoy them! I didn't realize until I started studying chakra healing and color therapy, that I've been using my bracelets all these years as color therapy and even mandalas! The colors are planned, and some are very eastern design. I'd love to be the first to really put the concepts together into a really powerful product.
And... I'm going to try and manage to throw these products in under the Spirit Gem Designs name! Look for a bit of rearranging and re-hashing of the current business. I want this business to be flexible with the ability to grow with fun, new products. But... I am NOT giving up my trees! Trees are definitely my main product, and what my main focus will be. By adding friendship bracelets, I get to have fun making them, AND I get to play with another crystal healing form.
These products will also get more into the prescription concept, where you can pick them according to your need, or you can have a counseling session with me to figure out what is best suited for the situation. I have done a lot of reading lately, and have found a new way to look at the whole crystal healing realm. I'll write more about it later!
All right, now that I have that out of my mind... time to continue getting ready for this coming weekend's rock show! I hope to have a few of these concepts at the show, to show off and gain feedback from my audience. My Etsy store has really taken off in sales, and I'm hurrying as fast as I can to replenish gem tree inventory before the big day arrives! I have 10 new gem trees that I listed on Etsy this morning, and it'll be interesting to see which make it to the rock show! Of the 5 I listed last week, I sold 3 of those already. I am really impressed, and REALLY happy! Yay!
And... I hit over 300 sales as of last week at Etsy! Let's keep the momentum going, thanks for the support!
