I've had many inquiries about custom work. I love doing custom work! It gives me a new challenge, and something new to worry over! I mean that in a good way, because I want each piece to be at the very least as expected, if not a lot better than!
But anyways... here are some specifics if you're looking for custom work. I have some styles to choose from: TINY gem tree (less than 4" inches tall), regular gem tree (about 6" inches tall), large gem tree (about 6-9" inches tall); and then Bonsais: small (about 6-8" inches tall) and finally the large (about 8-10" inches tall). The sizes are about, depending how they are wrapped. If you need a particular size, such as 6 inches exactly, let me know, because I can twist and correct as needed to come up with the exact size.
I do offer many choices in wire color. I work with standard silver, gold, light & dark copper, black. I can paint the wire in any other color you'd like, from light blue, to purple, to pink, whatever you'd like!
The next choice is gemstones. Now, this is the fun part, because I LOVE gemstones! (in case you couldn't tell) I have about 136 different gemstones in stock currently, and can order other ones when needed. I always have on hand and ready to go- the ever popular Amethyst, Ametrine, a variety of Quartz, Jasper, and Agate; Tiger Eye, Opal, Aquamarine, Carnelian, Citrine, just to name a few! I do have a supplier for more rare gems, including Ruby, Sapphire, Chrome Diopside, Kyanite, Kunzite, Morganite, Charoite, Larimar. I will happily mix up the gemstones, too, if you want to use more than one. Most gem trees use a minimum of 45 gems, with the maximum about 120, or if you double the small ones up, 230.
Finally, there are some base choices. Most popular is the rock base. I can find something to fit the overall fit and finish of the piece, or you can request something special, and I'll see if I can find it at the local rock shops. I have other bases besides rocks, like a glass bowl with small rocks, bowls of sand, mirrors, you name it! They can also come without a base, if you'd like to attach it to something you already have, such as a unique rock or to fit on top of a wedding cake. I'm more than happy to accommodate, and will provide instruction if needed.
People order custom gem trees for a variety of reasons, including a love for a particular gem, something they need for healing, special presents for birthdays and holidays, a birthstone or family tree (using birthstones of members), anniversary pieces and presents, and especially wedding cake toppers.
The bottom line is, if you don't find what you're looking for in my store, please don't hesitate to send me a message! I will go over the project with you, and iron out every detail of the final piece before its made. I send photos of the piece, for your approval, BEFORE it is shipped out, so there aren't any unexpected surprises.
I think to date, and it could be on the low side, I've done over two dozen custom pieces for people all over the world! I've done them for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, special cheer up gifts, and family trees.
The prices vary per piece, and it also depends what materials are used. If I work with gems outside of my typical stash, for instance, I will charge more to cover the cost of supplies. The prices range from $50 for a small tree, to over $100 for a large Bonsai (again, using my standard stock and nothing super fancy like Rubies).
I forgot to add, I also am more than happy to custom work a Sun Catcher for you! If you don't like the wire color, for instance, in my Etsy listings, let me know what color you want, and I'll get it done! Most of the Sun Catchers in the photos have already sold, so they're already custom pieces for each order. I absolutely don't mind changing up the wire color, or even gemstone placement, to suit your taste! You can either let me know your request before you order, or send a note along with the order.
